1918
The Beginning of Craftsmanship
The journey begins when Late Sh. Baldev Sahai Kohli started manufacturing shuttlecocks, laying the foundation of craftsmanship and precision that would define generations to come.
1925-26
Establishing Manufacturing Roots
A manufacturing unit was set up at Greenwood Street, Sialkot (now in Pakistan), producing shuttlecocks and hockey sticks. During this period, Sh. Baldev Sahai Kohli emerged as a leading importer of Portuguese wooden cork and goose/duck feathers.
1947
A New Beginning in India
Amid the Partition of India, Sh. Baldev Sahai Kohli migrated to Delhi, leaving behind his entire estate in Sialkot—determined to rebuild from the ground up.
1947-48
Re-establishing the Business
Soon after settling in Delhi, he started a proprietorship firm named “The United Sialkot Traders.”
1948
Birth of UST
On 22 September, 1948, United Sports Traders (Delhi) Private Limited was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1913 by Late Sh. Baldev Sahai Kohli and Late Smt. Leela Wanti Kohli, marking the formal foundation of UST.
1958
National Industry Leadership
Sh. Baldev Sahai Kohli became a Founder Member of the Sports Goods Export Promotion Council (SGEPC) with support from the Government of India, reinforcing UST’s role in shaping India’s sports goods ecosystem.
1965
Dedicated Cricket Bat Manufacturing
UST incorporated its first factory in Okhla, solely dedicated to cricket bat manufacturing, marking a decisive focus on the sport that would define the brand’s legacy.
1979
Second-Generation Leadership
On 16 May 1979, Sh. Vijay Mohan Kohli was appointed Director following the demise of the founder, ushering in the second generation of leadership.
1996
Expansion of Leadership
Sh. Amit Kohli joined the business and became a Director, bringing strong corporate governance and professional management expertise.
2004
Strengthening the Core
Sh. Sameer Kohli joined as Director, further reinforcing UST’s leadership and operational depth.
2008
First Official UST Store
Under the leadership of Amit and Sameer Kohli, UST launched its first official retail store, strengthening its direct connection with cricketers and customers.
2012
Entry into Sportswear
Under the leadership of Amit and Sameer Kohli, UST launched its first official retail store, strengthening its direct connection with cricketers and customers.
2014
Sportswear Manufacturing
The company incorporated its first factory dedicated to sportswear manufacturing, marking a new vertical in UST’s growth journey.
2021
Fourth Generation Joins
The legacy continued as Pranav Kohli (son of Amit Kohli) and Jitansh Kohli (son of Sameer Kohli) joined the business, bringing fresh perspective and modern expertise.
2022
Digital Transformation
UST Cricket launched its first e-commerce platform, taking its heritage craftsmanship to a global digital audience.
We (i.e.s Amit & Sameer) are the 3rd generation into this business entity which is distinct from person forming (Shri Baldev Sahai ji and Shri Vijay Mohan ji) and/or managing it, having characterstic of perpetual succession.As like our predecessors, our dream is to see our legecy continue with the next generation.It is our family and business responsibility to pass on ethics, policies, decipline, system, continuity which include both accounting, finance, personnel, legal and social reponsibility to our next generation.........
